The Heavy Equipment and Machinery Show was held in Brisbane mid May the same week as the Brisbane Truck Show. It featured big name brands from the Australian construction and earthmoving industry showcasing their latest machinery and equipment. Here’s a snapshot of a few of the exhibitors.
Marco Marabini, sales representative at BrisVegas Machinery, said the group is the importer and distributor of Kobelco excavators, and he looks after the Brisbane metropolitan area. BrisVegas also hires and sells used equipment for the construction and agricultural markets. Other equipment brands in its stable include New Holland, ASV, Kenbuilt, Case and Digga.
Marabini told us the market is booming and has been for years in Southeast Queensland and doesn’t look like stopping any time soon.
“The number of excavators sold throughout our area is increasing year on year. And with the forecast of work to get done in the next few years, it looks like it’s going to be consistently building as well,” says Marabini.
Marabini also mentioned the influx of people moving into Qld from the southern states was stoking demand for excavators in particular as land was being developed for housing.
Nick Massey, a Brisbane-based sales representative at CJD, is photographed with Volvo yellow equipment which the Perth-headquartered group import and sell directly to customers around Australia. The range includes tracked excavators, wheel loaders, dump trucks, and demolition machines. Prime markets include civil construction, mining and agriculture said Massey.
Craig Nyambuya is a part of EVCA Team which provides mobile charging for EVs, and a road service as well. It also has a fleet of 50 Teslas for hire. Nyambuya said the company is planning to take the business nationwide from its Brisbane base. It was founded three years ago. Nyambuya said EVCA also repurpose used lithium vehicle batteries, for example into home storage.
Al Hermann, sales representative for HIAB Queensland and Northern Territory, is pictured with a range of the business’ core product — cranes. They have various sizes with different reaches and carrying capacity. The cranes can be modified to suit a customer’s specifications. They can be fitted on to service bodies, mining trucks, and trailers. HIAB was founded in Sweden and has outlets all over the world. HIAB’s head office in Australia is in Dandenong, Victoria. HIAB also supplies forklifts, hook lifts and hoists.
