Foton Mobility Group (FMG) has announced the introduction of an improved eight-year/400,000km vehicle and battery warranty for T5 EV models, applicable to all existing and future sales of the electric truck in Australia.
The firm previously offered an eight-year/300,000km battery warranty, which has been extended by 100,000km, while the standard vehicle warranty was upped significantly from three-years/200,000km to eight-years/400,000km.
Meanwhile, all Foton T5 truck owners will continue to receive additional security via NTI Truck Assist’s 24/7 roadside assistance offering for 5-years/200,000km.
Available from a dealer network stretching from Cairns to Perth, the Foton T5 model line-up is currently led by the T5 EV, which led the pure-battery-powered truck sales race across 2023.
“We are incredibly proud of the Foton T5 range, so the decision to offer the best warranty in the Australian truck marketplace is simple,” said Foton Mobility Distribution Founder and CEO, Neil Wang.
“Obviously, the warranty demonstrates the high quality of our products and gives owners extra peace of mind.
“However, this move also provides a range of additional benefits and breaks down entry barriers for companies looking to make the switch to pure electric transport.
“Fleets can plan their servicing costs over an 8-year period, which extends to total cost of ownership benefits and better resale value.
“Financing and insurance will be easier to obtain, and Foton T5 owners can plan their future with greater confidence.
“A growing number of Australian businesses are finding the real value benefits of transitioning to new energy solutions, with the Foton T5 truly at the forefront.”
The Foton T5’s leading point of difference is a 3,500kg braked towing capacity, making it highly adaptable and capable of slotting into more fleet applications.
Another strength of the package is its flexibility, with the model available with a rated GVM of 4,500kg for car licence operation, or 6,000kg for light rigid licenced drivers, with either option allowing for towing.
From a financial perspective, the T5 truck features around 20 per cent lower upfront and operating costs, with fuel expenses gone forever, FMG says.
The Foton T5 has a fully loaded range of 200 kilometres, while also offering a full safety suite, including a Low-Speed Pedestrian Warning System, a comprehensive electronic braking and stability support package, dual SRS airbags, as well as a reversing radar and buzzer.
Foton T5’s new warranty offering is available from September 2024, making the all-electric truck model more appealing than ever for fleets looking to take the zero-emission plunge.
