Nick Broom, CEO at UK-based specialist in vehicle safety products PVL attended his first AFAC conference and exhibition last week to scope the local market. Broom described the experience as both rewarding and eye-opening.
“It’s really rewarding, really interesting to see that the products we’ve been offering in the UK, Europe, and the Middle East for 20 years aren’t being done the same way here,” said Broom, reflecting on the potential to bring PVL’s expertise to Australia.
PLV has been a leader in providing bespoke safety markings and vehicle signage solutions for emergency services and special agencies, such as search and rescue and highways, for over two decades. Their products are designed with the highest-grade reflectivity to improve visibility and safety for both vehicle occupants and those approaching the vehicle.
Rather than using generic reflective materials, PVL’s products leverage directional reflection technology, which is based on road sign systems. “Our products are designed for the vehicles they’re on and the surfaces they’re covering, so that an approaching vehicle’s headlight will direct the reflected light back at their eyes. Very simple when you understand it, but really complicated to manufacture,” Broom explained.
This unique approach offers greater safety, particularly for emergency services and other agencies. Broom expressed optimism about PVL’s future in Australia, adding, “Yes, we’ll definitely be back next year in Perth.”
With PLV’s cutting-edge technology and bespoke solutions, the company is set to make a strong impact on the Australian fleet and emergency services markets. To learn more about PVL and their innovative products, visit their website.
