Bendix is gearing up for a major presence at the 2025 Brisbane Truck Show, with plans to showcase its full commercial vehicle brake range including products from the popular ProTrans™ and ProTrans™ HD lines. Visitors to Stand 274 at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre from May 15–18 will get an up-close look at the company’s friction products, engineered for safety, performance, and ease of maintenance.
The ProTrans™ disc pad range features advanced surface technology to improve resistance to high temperatures and reduce wear, helping operators lower their total cost of ownership. Bendix brake pads are known for delivering a consistent friction level, regardless of load, temperature or speed, and feature titanium bedding-in technology that ensures immediate pedal feel from new.
Importantly for compliance-conscious fleet managers, the ProTrans™ disc pads are fully certified under ECE Regulation 90 (ECE-R90). This European standard ensures rigorous performance testing and validation, including braking effectiveness, speed sensitivity and cold-weather operation. Reduced brake noise and ease of installation further enhance workshop efficiency.
Bendix will also be exhibiting brake shoe kits and the ProTrans™ HD disc pads – specially developed for extreme duty applications such as refuse collection vehicles.
What sets Bendix apart is its local R\&D and validation capability. The commercial vehicle brake range was developed using a truck brake dynamometer unique to Australia. This advanced equipment allows Bendix engineers to simulate real-world braking demands for everything from 4WDs to road-train prime movers, with axle loads up to 20 tonnes. The dyno even includes an adjustable air-cooling system to replicate airflow during high-load braking scenarios.
For light commercial vehicle (LCV) operators, Bendix will highlight its Ultimate 4WD™ Electric Park Brake (EPB) systems. These kits are available for LandCruiser 76, 78, and 79 Series models, offering a significant boost in safety – particularly in mining and industrial settings where OH\&S compliance is critical. Originally launched in 2023, the EPB system acts as a secondary park brake that bolts on without changing the vehicle’s existing hydraulic brake mechanism or original parking brake.
The EPB system uses single-piston calipers on the rear rotors to hold the vehicle securely, reducing the risk of rollaways. It’s a plug-and-play fit for qualified mechanics, and crucially, installation doesn’t affect ADR compliance or require engineering sign-off.
A similar kit is also available for post-2015 N80 Toyota Hilux 4x4s, incorporating a drum-to-disc conversion with larger 312mm Bendix rotors – providing a substantial braking upgrade over the OE configuration.
Throughout the event, Bendix product experts will be on hand to provide insights, product demonstrations and tailored advice for operators – whether you’re an owner-driver or managing a national fleet.
