DFAC Trucks Australia has confirmed its first seven dealerships and 18 customer service centres as the new commercial vehicle brand builds its Australian sales and aftersales network.
Distributed locally by KRW Motor Group, DFAC Trucks will initially have dealerships in Ballarat, Geelong, Melbourne, Newcastle, Bunbury, Adelaide and Brisbane, with the company planning to expand the network as sales volumes grow.
For fleet operators considering a newer truck brand, the breadth of the service network will be an important part of the purchasing decision alongside vehicle specifications, pricing and whole-of-life costs.
Captain 45 leads Australian launch
The foundation dealers are now offering the DFAC Captain 45 in cab chassis and alloy tray configurations.
The alloy tray version is being marketed under DFAC’s WorkReady range, with pricing starting from $59,995 driveaway and a seven-year or 250,000km warranty.
At 4.5-tonne GVM, the Captain 45 can be driven on a standard car licence. It can also be uprated to six-tonne GVM for operators with an LR licence.
This places the truck in a segment commonly considered by businesses looking for additional payload and capability compared with utes and vans.
Power comes from a Euro 6 Cummins 2.5-litre engine, combined with Dana axles and an EATON FAST AMT transmission. The standard safety package includes cyclist and pedestrian detection.
Dealer support part of launch strategy
KRW Motor Group CEO and Founder Neil Wang said establishing experienced dealers was a priority as DFAC entered the Australian market.
“We are very excited to not just bring the DFAC brand to Australia, but also have a group of established and leading dealers to support the product to customers,” Wang said.
“Like the KRW Motor Group, these dealers have been chosen with the customer being front of mind. This collaboration will set the DFAC brand on a positive path from the outset of its introduction.”
Wang said the company had also established sales and service training and recruited people with truck industry experience to support the dealer network.
“From the Dealer Principals through to the sales and aftersales teams, we are ensuring the best customer support at all levels with no stone unturned in what customers expect when they choose a DFAC Truck.”
More dealers expected
DFAC was first announced for the Australian market at the 2025 Brisbane Truck Show, with KRW Motor Group saying it has since received interest from dealers around the country.
“The initial seven Foundation dealers will serve the DFAC brand and its customers through the introduction phase of the brand, but we are keen to grow the network as momentum builds and customers have an opportunity to see the Captain 45 and upcoming models in operation,” Wang said.
The expansion of the dealer and service footprint will be important for DFAC as it looks beyond owner-operators towards larger fleet customers, where national servicing capability, parts availability and vehicle downtime can carry as much weight in procurement decisions as the initial purchase price.
DFAC is part of Dongfeng Motor Company and enters Australia through the Australian-owned KRW Motor Group, which specialises in importing and distributing buses and light to medium duty trucks.
