Hino Australia’s expanded 700 Series is gaining momentum in the heavy-duty market, with deliveries in the first half of 2026 already exceeding the total number recorded across all of 2025.
Orders have also accelerated sharply, with Hino reporting that 700 Series orders between January and June were three times higher than during the same period last year.
The increase is being driven by demand across a range of heavy-duty applications, including general freight, refrigerated transport, construction, waste management, traffic management and civil works.
Hino Australia President and CEO Richard Emery said the result reflected growing interest in the broader 700 Series range.
“Customer demand continues to strengthen with orders in the first six months of 2026 already triple that of the same time last year,” Emery said.
The 700 Series range has grown to 31 models, giving operators more choice when matching a truck to a particular payload, route and body configuration.
A key part of the expanded offering is the range of transmission options.
Customers can choose Hino’s M112 12-speed automated manual transmission, an Allison 3200 six-speed automatic, an Allison 4400 six-speed automatic or the ZF TraXon TX 2441TO 16-speed AMT.
The ZF transmission is also available with the ZF Intarder, providing an additional braking option for operators working in applications where vehicle mass, gradients and repeated braking can place greater demands on the service brakes.
Transmission choices are paired with either Hino’s A09C or E13C engines.
The broader specification range allows fleets to select different driveline combinations depending on whether the vehicle is operating in linehaul, urban distribution, construction, waste or other vocational applications.
“With our expanded range of driveline and axle configuration options, customers can choose a 700 Series truck that suits their operational requirements, delivering greater productivity and improved efficiency in demanding working environments,” Emery said.
Hino also points to Euro 6 emissions compliance, safety technology and operational efficiency as key elements of the current 700 Series proposition.
For heavy vehicle operators, the growth in orders suggests buyers are placing increasing value on the ability to tailor specifications to the task rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all heavy-duty platform.
With 31 models now available and a broader combination of engines, transmissions and axle layouts, Hino is positioning the 700 Series to compete across a wider section of the Australian heavy-duty market.
