Geotab will show attendees at TruckShowX how they can utilise connected vehicle technologies to support fleet decarbonisation even if electric vehicle alternatives are unavailable.
Mark Bucknall, Associate Vice President of Business Development (APAC) at Geotab, will reveal how transport operators can leverage smart technologies such as the company’s Green Fleet Dashboard to decarbonise their fleets and transition to electric vehicles.
The TruckShowX Networking Event Sponsor will also showcase its market-leading solutions at the event’s mini expo.
Geotab’s Green Fleet Dashboard provides fleet managers with an easy tool to monitor a fleet’s average fuel and electric energy usage, cost, and resulting emissions, track key driver performance indicators related to fuel-efficient driver behaviour, benchmark performance against similar operators, and identify opportunities for improvement.
“Simply put, if you cannot measure something, how can you hope to manage it?” says Bucknall, whose company provides telematics (vehicle and asset tracking) solutions to more than 50,000 customers in 160 countries.
“Connected vehicle technologies have the ability to shine a light on the grey areas of your fleet’s activity, highlighting areas of potential savings and helping tackle unnecessary fuel burn.
“A greener future can easily start today if fleet managers can harness fleet insights to make informed choices.”
The ability to reduce fuel usage and emissions from existing operations and fleets is an important aspect of the decarbonisation journey, says Adam Ritzinger, HVIA Chief Technical Officer and TruckShowX Technical Program Manager.
“Not every fleet is in a position right now to accommodate a wholly electric or hydrogen fuel cell vehicle, but many fleets are still looking to better understand and reduce their transport emissions,” he says.
“This is where capabilities like Geotab’s data insights to help fleets reduce emissions come in, being a readily accessible technology that can be adopted by any fleet, right now.”
A spin-off of the hugely successful Brisbane Truck Show, TruckShowX is set to be the biggest trucking industry decarbonisation event held to date in Australia.
To be held May 13-14, 2024 at RACV Cape Schanck Resort in Victoria, it will explore low and zero-emissions vehicles (LZEV) and technology, and unpack the interconnected ‘ecosystem’ of equipment, infrastructure, services, regulations, policies, and people that must exist for them to work as a solution.
The two-day event will feature keynote presentations from global leaders in LZEV adoption, supported by practical case studies of local operators leading the decarbonisation effort.
Complementing this will be an expo showcasing the latest low- and zero-emissions vehicles and related technologies and, uniquely, a drive-day opportunity to get behind the wheel of the latest LZEVs.
