Penske has announced a new national partnership with Soldier On, aimed at expanding career pathways and training opportunities for current and former Australian Defence Force personnel across Australia and New Zealand.
The three-year partnership will focus on strengthening veteran-inclusive workplace practices within Penske, while increasing awareness of the transferable skills veterans bring to civilian roles. It also seeks to deepen collaboration between the two organisations and improve access to Soldier On’s support services for veterans and their families.
Hamish Christie-Johnston, Managing Director of Penske Australia, said the partnership aligns closely with the company’s existing connection to the defence community.
“As an employer of military veterans and as a supplier to the Australian Defence Force, we appreciate the important role that Soldier On plays in empowering and supporting veterans, and we are excited to explore synergies through this partnership,” Christie-Johnston said.
He said Penske’s focus on people and partnerships underpinned the decision to formalise the relationship.
“At Penske, we deliver powerful solutions through people, products, and partnerships to make a difference, and through this initiative, we can make a significant impact,” he said.
“We also pride ourselves on fostering a caring culture, and through the resources offered by Soldier On, we will be able to raise awareness of the rewarding careers that veterans can enjoy post-service.”
Soldier On chief executive Paul Singer said the partnership demonstrated a meaningful commitment to the veteran community.
“Veterans want to feel understood, respected, and valued in civilian life,” Singer said.
“Penske’s commitment as a national partner sends a powerful message: veterans belong, their contribution matters, and organisations like Penske are actively investing in their success and wellbeing.”
As part of the partnership, the two organisations will work together to highlight veterans’ skills, share veteran stories and lived experience within the Penske workforce, and further develop a workplace culture that recognises defence-community talent.
Singer said the benefits of such partnerships extend beyond individual employees.
“When organisations invest in understanding and supporting veterans, the benefits flow to veterans, their families and the businesses they join,” he said.
“This partnership reflects Penske’s genuine commitment to making a difference.”
The partnership positions Penske as a national employer actively engaging with the defence community, while supporting Soldier On’s broader mission to help veterans build meaningful civilian lives.
