Velocity Truck Centres (VTC) has announced the appointment of Guy Hoffensetz as President of its Australian operations, effective March 30, marking a leadership transition within one of the country’s largest commercial vehicle dealership networks.
Hoffensetz will report to Brad Fauvre, Chief Executive Officer of Velocity Vehicle Group (VVG), which operates an extensive dealership footprint across North America and Australia. The appointment follows what the company described as a comprehensive search process for a senior executive with experience managing complex, multi-site dealership businesses.
Background in truck and equipment dealership operations
Hoffensetz joins VTC from Western Truck Group, where he served as Chief Executive Officer, overseeing regional truck dealership operations. Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership roles at RDO Equipment, one of Australia’s largest John Deere dealership groups.
That combination of truck and agricultural equipment experience reflects the broader trend within the heavy vehicle sector, where dealership leadership increasingly requires expertise in multi-location operations, customer service delivery, and workforce management across dispersed regions.
Announcing the appointment, Brad Fauvre said the new President brings operational experience aligned with the organisation’s priorities.
“We are pleased to announce the appointment of Guy, a highly experienced operator within the truck market, to the President role. Guy brings a proven focus on people, customers and performance, strongly aligned with VVG’s pillars of Speed, Value and Trust,” Fauvre said.
Leadership continuity and governance changes
As part of the transition, the company confirmed that outgoing leader Richard Higgins will remain connected to the business in a governance capacity.
Fauvre acknowledged Higgins’ contribution to the organisation following its acquisition phase and operational integration.
“We thank Richard Higgins for his leadership over five years and the significant contributions he made throughout the business from the time of our acquisition. We are pleased that Richard will remain closely involved in the business in his new role as Vice Chair of the Board,” Fauvre concluded.
Leadership continuity is often a critical factor for dealership networks that rely on stable customer relationships, service capability, and parts supply performance across multiple locations. Maintaining senior involvement at board level can help preserve institutional knowledge during executive transitions.
Focus on network performance and growth
Hoffensetz said he was looking forward to working with employees and customers across the national dealership footprint.
“I’m excited to be joining such a great company as Velocity Truck Centres, with its extensive national network and first-tier products, and values that align with my own,” he said.
“I look forward to getting to know our customers and employees, and helping to drive continued business growth,” he added.
Velocity Truck Centres supports Daimler Truck brands including Mercedes-Benz Trucks, Freightliner and Fuso, operating a network of 19 dealerships across Australia, with several sites also representing Mercedes-Benz Vans.
At a broader level, parent company Velocity Vehicle Group manages more than 135 locations across the United States, Canada, Mexico and Australia, highlighting the scale of the organisation’s global dealership operations.
For the Australian heavy vehicle sector, leadership changes at major dealership groups are closely watched by fleet operators and transport businesses, given the direct impact these networks have on vehicle availability, service support, and long-term asset performance.
