Allison Transmission has announced the promotion of Atak Talas to Executive Director of Asia Pacific Sales, effective March 1, 2025. Based in Japan, Talas will lead the Asia Pacific team, focusing on strategic growth, product innovation, and enhancing customer experience for transport operators and fleet managers across the region.
In his new role, Talas will spearhead initiatives aimed at strengthening customer connectivity, expanding market reach, and driving new product launches, all while fostering a high-performing team environment. He steps into the position following Brian Geiselhart, who has led the team since 2022 and will be returning to the United States to focus on Allison’s licensing and partnership initiatives.
“Atak’s promotion recognises his ability to develop strong customer relationships, drive growth and lead teams, combined with his technical expertise and sharp business acumen,” said Heidi K. Schutte, Vice President of APAC, EMEA, and South America Sales. “We’re confident he will continue to build on the solid foundation established under Brian’s leadership. We extend our gratitude to Brian for his dedication and contributions.”
Talas brings over 14 years of diverse experience at Allison Transmission, having held roles such as Customer Integration Engineer, OEM Account Manager, and Segment Manager for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Most recently, he served as Managing Director of East Asia Sales, overseeing markets in Japan, Korea, and Australia.
Before joining Allison, Talas worked at Daimler as a research and development engineer, focusing on engine and transmission components for Mercedes-Benz Trucks. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Boğaziçi University and an MBA from Bahçeşehir University.
Talas’s extensive experience and leadership will play a key role in Allison’s continued growth across the Asia Pacific region.
