NHR Group has strengthened its presence across New Zealand with the opening of a new Wellington hub, the relocation of its Manukau site in Auckland, and expanded coverage through partnerships with Hertz franchisees in regional markets.
The commercial vehicle leasing and rental specialist said the changes are designed to support growing demand from business and commercial customers, while improving service reach across key transport and industrial regions.
NHR CEO Philip Arras described the expansion as a response to sustained growth in customer demand and the need to maintain service standards as the business scales.
“We have experienced strong nationwide growth in demand and we are expanding accordingly,” said Arras.
“Our bigger site in Manukau and new Wellington hub ensures we are well-suited to deliver the same high-quality service and fleet availability our customers expect, with greater reach across the country.”
The relocated Manukau site is positioned near major transport links in South Auckland, an area with significant commercial and industrial activity. According to Arras, the larger facility will help the company better support customers operating across a range of industries that rely on flexible vehicle access.
“NHR’s Manukau site is positioned on important transport links to serve business and commercial industrial parks across South Auckland, where we are continuing to offer great value vehicle rental services across various industries and needs,” he said.
Further south, the new Wellington hub has been established in Petone, Lower Hutt, providing a base close to central government and major transport infrastructure. The location is intended to support government agencies, film production companies and commercial customers operating in the capital region.
“Strategically placed in Petone, Lower Hutt, the new NHR Wellington branch is only 12 kilometres from Parliament House in the Wellington CBD and 20 kilometres from Wellington International Airport,” said Arras.
The expansion also includes closer collaboration with Hertz franchisees in Taranaki and Manawatu, extending NHR’s service footprint into regional areas without the need to build standalone branches. The company said this approach allows it to maintain nationwide coverage while leveraging existing service networks.
With the new Wellington presence, upgraded Auckland facility and regional franchise partnerships now in place, NHR appears to be positioning itself for continued growth in the commercial vehicle rental and leasing sector, particularly in markets where reliable vehicle access and responsive support remain critical for business operations.
