Ampol has officially opened its redeveloped dual Ampol Foodary Eastern Creek service centres, continuing its investment in premium highway locations and strengthening its national truck network.
Located on the M4 Motorway in Sydney’s west, the Eastern Creek sites play a key role in supporting long-haul freight movements as well as daily commuter traffic along one of the state’s busiest transport corridors. The redevelopment introduces separate fuel and diesel canopies, aimed at improving traffic flow and providing a more efficient experience for both heavy vehicles and passenger cars.
The upgrade places a strong focus on facilities for truck drivers. Expanded truck parking, a new driver lounge and shower amenities have been added, alongside a refreshed retail and food offer. Drivers now have access to a range of options under one roof, including Ampol Foodary, Hungry Jack’s and Soul Origin.
Electrification has also been built into the design. The Eastern Creek sites feature drive-through electric vehicle charging bays as part of the AmpCharge network, allowing larger commercial EVs and vehicles towing trailers to access charging without uncoupling.
At the westbound service centre, two 400kW ultra-fast chargers supplied by ABB have been installed. These chargers are among the fastest publicly available in Australia and are intended to support shorter charging times, which is particularly important for heavy electric vehicles that require quicker turnarounds.
While diesel remains central to the freight task today, the Eastern Creek redevelopment reflects a broader shift in highway infrastructure, with sites increasingly designed to accommodate a mix of current and emerging vehicle technologies.
Ampol Foodary Eastern Creek adds another strategically located asset to Ampol’s national network, supporting freight efficiency, driver wellbeing and evolving energy needs along one of Sydney’s key transport routes.
