Isuzu Power Solutions (IPS) has strengthened its national footprint with the appointment of LK Diesel as its newest authorised dealer in Melbourne, expanding the brand’s specialist support network for industrial and off-highway engines.
A division of Isuzu Trucks, Australia’s top-selling truck brand since 1989, IPS leverages Isuzu’s proven diesel engine technology across a range of power units, industrial engines, and generator sets.
Operating from Braeside in Melbourne’s southeast, LK Diesel has been part of the Kuhlwind family since 1967 and employs 17 staff, including eight service technicians. The business has built a reputation for diesel engine expertise across sectors including agriculture, heavy rail, and mining.
“LK Diesel only works with high-quality diesel engine suppliers, and when the opportunity arose to become part of the Isuzu Power Solutions dealer network, we knew it was the right fit,” said Director Mike Kuhlwind. “We have confidence in the Isuzu products, and the IPS structure of people and back-up is second to none.”
Strengthening Dealer Capability
The new partnership aligns with Isuzu Power Solutions’ recent period of growth. The company has expanded its sales team with the appointment of Shane Moretto as Sales Manager for Victoria, Tasmania, and New Zealand — overseeing dealer relationships including LK Diesel.
“As a well-established name in the off-highway diesel engine business, IPS is thrilled to welcome LK Diesel to the Isuzu family,” said Mr Moretto. “LK Diesel’s diverse customer base provides a platform to showcase the quality and reliability of Isuzu products and engineering services.”
IPS provides technical and engineering support for its dealer network, ensuring all partners are trained in Isuzu’s sales and service standards. This includes comprehensive product knowledge to give customers additional confidence when selecting IPS engines and generators.
Supporting Australia’s Industrial Sectors
With 55 years of experience, LK Diesel sees the partnership with IPS as an opportunity to expand its product offering and service capability.
“This is our primary business — we don’t sell trucks; we sell and service advanced diesel engines,” said Bernard Kuhlwind. “IPS has a great range of products across power units, engines, and generators. The technology is right, the reliability is strong, and the back-up is spot on.”
The addition of LK Diesel strengthens IPS’s commitment to providing nationwide support for industries that rely on robust, efficient, and reliable diesel power — from agriculture to infrastructure and resources.
