Isuzu Australia Limited (IAL) will be thrilled to once again be a part of the Australasian Waste & Recycling Expo (AWRE) when it sets up base at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 23-24 August 2017.
After being successfully hosted by Sydney in 2016, AWRE 2017 promises to build on last yearâs momentum by drawing together over 1,500 industry professionals and exhibitors from across Australasia, Asia, the UK and North America.
More impressive than the geographical expanses traversed will be the technology thatâs brought together â ranging from solar compactors, to green kitchen bins and tyre recycling lines.
But Isuzu wonât be there merely to observe. Isuzuâs National Sales Manager, Les Spaltman said it was a great opportunity for Isuzu Trucks to demonstrate new developments and get a direct industry response.
âWe pride ourselves on being market leaders when it comes to adopting new technology and understanding what our clients â be they current or future â require to get the job done,â he said.
âAWRE is a bit of a one stop shop when it comes to the future of waste management and recycling, so weâre excited to be amongst it and showcasing a very strong product.â
The product on show is the Isuzu FSR 850 Dual Control, purpose-built for waste applications.
With 14,000 kg GVM, 176 kW @ 2,400 rpm and 706 Nm @ 1,450 rpm, the FSR has more than enough capacity to handle the hard slog of working with waste. Unlike some aftermarket conversions the Isuzu design retains existing cab electrical harnesses and uses additional wiring harnesses that âplug and playâ, and provide reliable operation of functions such as fuel gauges, odometer readings, and full safety interlocks for the control change-over.
The FSR also features Allison LCT2500 6 speed automatic transmission, power assisted recirculated ball steering, and fully integrated dual control.
In terms of driver comfort, the FSR boasts cruise control, left and right-hand side ISRI 6860 seats with integrated seatbelts and air suspension, pneumatic lumbar support, height, rake and automatic weight adjustment and the safety of a Front Underun Protection Device (FUPD). Cab visibility is a feature as is ease of entry and egress with entry assist grips, 90 degree opening doors and non-slip steps.
The Digital Audio Visual Equipment (DAVE) provides satellite navigation, up to four camera inputs, reversing sensors and a tyre pressure monitoring system, amongst other things.
âThe FSR 850 offers fantastic drivability and maneuverability, and of course you get the benefit of Isuzuâs well-established reliability and premium servicing,â said Mr Spaltman.
âAnd in keeping with AWREâS theme of increasing efficiency and reducing waste, the FSR delivers strongly on fuel efficiency.â
Solving problems and providing solutions is what AWRE is all about and Isuzu certainly share that vision.
