Kuehne+Nagel is expanding its presence in Southeast Asia with a major investment in a new fleet of prime movers in Thailand, strengthening regional road logistics capabilities for e-commerce and high-tech customers.
The initiative builds on the 2024 acquisition of City Zone Express — a logistics provider with established operations across Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, and China — and is designed to meet rising demand for reliable, scalable cross-border transport.
Fleet expansion to increase regional capacity
The rollout will occur in three stages, with the first batch of vehicles already in service and the next two scheduled for deployment in January and April 2026. Once complete, the fleet will include nearly 40 prime movers and 100 containers, providing customers with greater flexibility and capacity to move goods efficiently across Southeast Asia.
David Roussiere, Managing Director of Kuehne+Nagel Thailand, Cambodia and Myanmar, said the investment supports the evolving needs of industries such as e-commerce and technology.
“Customers in fast-growing sectors like e-commerce and high-tech can benefit from customised road logistics solutions, including add-ons like real-time visibility and multimodal options. As supply chains evolve, we are committed to helping businesses build resilience, optimise costs and meet their sustainability goals.”
Supporting ASEAN’s logistics modernisation
Thailand’s Ministry of Transport has committed more than USD 64 billion to infrastructure development since 2022, with major projects underway in highway construction and logistics connectivity. The ASEAN Customs Transit System (ACTS) — connecting Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam — continues to play a key role in reducing transaction costs and boosting intra-regional trade.
Kuehne+Nagel’s new fleet aligns with these regional developments, helping customers benefit from faster response times and improved service reliability.
