The annual NTI MND Research Raffle launched at the 2025 Brisbane Truck Show is offering its biggest and boldest prize yet – and tickets are still available ahead of the Sunday 13 July draw at the NTI Townsville 500. If you haven’t secured your entry, now’s the time to get involved.
This year’s raffle supports life-changing research into Motor Neurone Disease (MND), a cause that hits close to home for NTI. “The original cause came about because our former CEO, Wayne Patterson, lost his life to MND,” explained Janelle Greene, Chief Customer Officer at NTI. “We were looking for a cause that we could get behind as a company – something our people could rally behind.”
The initiative has become an integral part of NTI’s culture, uniting employees and customers alike. “It’s partly for honouring Wayne, partly for honouring the modern NTI, and partly for our people,” Greene said. “Our people have really gotten behind it as well. We do fun runs, bake sales, and make sure there’s lots of NTI people at the truck show selling tickets.”
The 2025 raffle was officially launched at the NTI stand during the Brisbane Truck Show, where the prize was revealed: a Toyota Tundra and a New Age Manta Ray 19ft caravan. Greene explained the decision to shake up the format: “You’ve got to mix it up a bit, right? We’ve done a few different Restos. This time, we’ve got a Toyota Tundra – a really exciting, adventurous vehicle – and the Manta Ray, which is a stylish home on wheels.”
The support of Walkinshaw Automotive Group helped NTI secure the in-demand prize vehicles. “Walkinshaw Automotive Group did help us in getting the two vehicles,” Greene said. “We’ve got a partnership with Walkinshaw, and we’re really grateful for their support.”
The Toyota Tundra – affectionately named “Dusty” – is packed with technology and safety features, while the caravan boasts a queen bed, ensuite, air conditioning and solar power, designed to take adventurers deep into the Australian outback in comfort and style.
Greene encouraged everyone in the transport community and beyond to get involved. “Over 2,000 people live with MND in Australia, and two are diagnosed every day. It’s a really horrible disease,” she said. “NTI people are really proud to be part of this. We want to keep raising solid money for MND and contribute to the research that will one day find a cure.”
