Success of Hyundai Mighty supported by Allison automatics

Allison Transmission is pleased to announce that more than 10,000 Allison-equipped Hyundai Mighty vehicles have been sold globally since its integration 4 years ago, with the release also being well received locally. 

While the 10,000^th Mighty Truck equipped with an Allison 1000 xFE™ fully automatic transmission found its home in South Korea, many are now operating in Australian fleets and businesses. 

“Since the integration of the fully automatic option Hyundai Australia has sold more than 800 Allison-equipped Mightys,” said Hyundai Commercial Vehicles Australia General Manager, Daryl Thornton.

“Sales have increased by around 200% on 2018/2019 figures, and during the last 2 years more than 80% of Mighty trucks have come with an Allison.

“Many of our customers are managing pickup and delivery jobs. Automatic vehicles are very comfortable to drive, even when the vehicle is stuck in city traffic with repetitive stop-and-go. Our customers are attracted to the Allison-equipped Mighty automatic truck because it is easy to drive, fuel efficient, productive and durable.”

Hyundai Mighty is a 2.5- and 3.5-ton light-duty truck. Its popularity has been on the rise in recent years, meeting market demand for driving comfort, fuel economy, reliability, serviceability and productivity. Allison has delivered more than 10,000 units of the Allison 1000 xFE™ fully automatic transmissions for the Hyundai Mighty since its launch in 2020. Mighty automatic trucks are used in a variety of applications, including pickup and delivery trucks, cargo trucks, refuse vehicles, firefighting trucks and specialty vehicles.

This results in increased economic value due to productivity and reduced downtime versus traditional manual and AMTs.
