Team 18 has confirmed that fan favourite David Reynolds will continue with the Mount Waverley-based Supercars outfit beyond 2025, after the team exercised its option to retain him for the future.
The announcement cements a stable driver line-up for the Chevrolet Racing homologation partner team, with Reynolds joining teammate Anton De Pasquale to spearhead Team 18’s campaign into the 2026 Supercars Championship.
Reynolds, the 2017 Bathurst 1000 winner, joined Team 18 in 2024 and has since brought his trademark speed, personality, and experience to the operation. Currently sitting 18th in the 2025 series standings, he has claimed one pole position and five top-ten finishes to date this season.
A Focus on Continuity and Growth
Reynolds said he was delighted to confirm his future with Team 18, noting the team’s impressive growth since he joined and its elevation to Chevrolet’s homologation partner.
“I’m extremely beside myself to stay on at Team 18. This team’s been going from strength to strength since I joined, and I’ve watched everyone grow and get better within themselves,” said Reynolds.
“The team’s also grown in size and stature, especially with becoming the homologation team for Chevrolet. I think that’s such a good thing, and I’m really enjoying the journey with everyone.
“It’s great to have this all sorted before the biggest race of the year. It doesn’t really play on your mind, but from time to time it can, so it’s nice to have it done. Now I can just focus on what I love to do — drive my car fast. I can’t wait to finish the year on a high and start next year strong.”
The decision ensures Team 18 retains a consistent and experienced pairing heading into the next phase of its Supercars journey, with both Reynolds and De Pasquale playing key roles in the team’s performance development and technical evolution.
Schwerkolt Praises Reynolds’ Impact
Team Owner Charlie Schwerkolt said the team was thrilled to keep Reynolds onboard, praising his professionalism, racecraft, and enthusiasm.
“We’re thrilled to have Dave Reynolds locked in and staying on with Team 18 into the future,” Schwerkolt said.
“He’s been a fantastic addition to the team over the past two seasons, not just with his speed behind the wheel but also with the energy and experience he brings to our garage.
“His input has really pushed us in the right direction and he’s hungry to continue to push this team forward. The relationship he’s built with Anton and our engineering group has been really valuable, and keeping that consistency in our line-up will only make us stronger heading into 2026.”
Bathurst Beckons
In true David Reynolds style, the 38-year-old confirmed the news with a comedic video nodding to Anchorman’s Ron Burgundy — a fitting reminder of his light-hearted personality both on and off the track.
Reynolds will now turn his attention to Mount Panorama, where he will team up with Lee Holdsworth in the #20 TRADIE Energy Racing Chevrolet Camaro for this weekend’s Repco Bathurst 1000. Practice kicks off on Thursday as Team 18 looks to build momentum ahead of the Great Race.
With stability, confidence, and a growing partnership under Chevrolet Racing, Team 18 enters the back half of the season with a clear focus: finishing strong in 2025 and building toward an even bigger 2026 campaign.
