Brad Jones Racing has continued its partnership with Mack Trucks Australia, taking delivery of two new Euro 6 Mack Anthem prime movers to support its national Supercars logistics program.
The new trucks will transport BJR’s Toyota GR Supra Supercars to race events across Australia, replacing two Euro 5 Mack Anthems that joined the team in 2023. The latest delivery continues a partnership between BJR and Mack that has now run for more than three years.
Based in Albury, Brad Jones Racing faces one of the more demanding transport tasks in Australian motorsport, with long-haul movements to race meetings in locations including Tasmania, Western Australia and the Northern Territory. For a race team, transport reliability is not just a back-office function. Missed deadlines can affect preparation, team logistics and event readiness.
Brad Jones, Team Owner at Brad Jones Racing, said the trucks had proven themselves across the team’s national schedule.
“The Macks have been a fantastic truck for us,” Jones said.
“From Albury down to Launceston, across to Perth and up to Darwin, our Macks travel the lengths of Australia hauling our race cars. We have strict timelines to adhere to and our drivers know they can rely on Mack to make it every single time.”
The new Mack Anthem prime movers are powered by Mack’s 13-litre MP8HE engine and paired with the latest generation 12-speed mDrive transmission. Mack says the combination is designed to support fuel efficiency and dependable highway performance, while the Anthem’s aerodynamic design is also intended to reduce drag over long-distance operations.
Tony O’Connell, Vice President Mack Trucks Australia, said feedback from operators using the MP8HE-equipped Anthem had been positive.
“We’ve been getting great customer feedback on MP8HE equipped Anthem when it comes to fuel efficiency,” O’Connell said.
The trucks are also fitted with Mack Connect telematics, giving operators visibility over fuel use and other operating data across the fleet.
“These trucks are also equipped with our Mack Connect telematics solution which provides fantastic visibility on fuel usage which gives operators the ability to monitor their fuel usage across their Mack fleet,” O’Connell said.
For motorsport transport, driver comfort is also part of the operational equation. The BJR Anthems include Mack’s 36-inch integrated walk-through sleeper cab, supporting the team’s transport drivers during long interstate runs between events.
O’Connell said there was a natural link between the racing environment and the efficiency focus of the Anthem.
“Aerodynamics are just as important in trucking as they are in motorsport, removing drag saves fuel and the Anthem’s aero styling and the MP8HE powerplant make for a great combination,” he said.
The new trucks will be serviced and supported by CMV Truck and Bus Wodonga, keeping maintenance close to BJR’s Albury base.
Mack Trucks Australia is part of Volvo Group Australia. Mack trucks first arrived in Australia in 1919 and have been built at the company’s Queensland factory since 1963.
