PrixCar Services is strengthening its fleet with the addition of new Mercedes-Benz Atego trucks, purpose-built for its retail arm, Move My Wheels.
The enclosed carriers, finished in Move My Wheels livery, are designed for specialised vehicle movements and final-mile deliveries where access is tight and precision is essential. Each truck carries one vehicle at a time, ensuring protection from both the elements and unwanted attention.
Goran Koviloski, National Fleet Manager at PrixCar, said the Atego’s chassis made it the ideal choice for their custom builds.
“We chose the Atego for our new enclosed carriers as the design of the chassis requires very little modification to be able to build our bespoke body on,” Mr Koviloski explained.
“The new Atego allows us to increase the size of vehicle that we can carry in our one-car enclosed service offering but keep the compact nature of the truck to still be able to offer our service to those hard-to-reach locations.”
Safety was another deciding factor. The Atego comes standard with Mercedes-Benz’s latest technology, including Active Brake Assist (AEBS), Active Sideguard Assist, and Front Guard Assist. These systems monitor blind spots, help avoid collisions, and step in automatically if a driver doesn’t respond to a potential impact.
The trucks, delivered by Daimler Trucks Laverton, join PrixCar’s existing Mercedes-Benz Actros prime movers, extending a strong working relationship.
“With the reviews we have had on the road from our drivers of the latest Actros, it was an easy decision to open the conversation and explore the new Atego for other areas of our fleet,” Mr Koviloski added.
Andrew Assimo, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Daimler Truck Australia Pacific, said the Atego was a natural fit.
“The Atego is perfectly suited to provide a premium vehicle delivery service with its clever design and advanced safety technology. Move My Wheels helps customers move their vehicles safely and reliably, so it only makes sense they do use a Mercedes-Benz truck.”
Under the cab, the Atego features the OM936 8-litre six-cylinder engine delivering 240hp and 1000Nm of torque. Paired with a Powershift 3 six-speed Automated Manual Transmission (AMT), the truck meets Euro 6 emissions standards, balancing performance with environmental responsibility.
For PrixCar, the investment highlights its commitment to providing secure, flexible transport solutions for customers across Australia — whether delivering vehicles to city addresses or navigating the final mile into locations larger trucks simply can’t reach.
