XFM has boosted its national logistics fleet with the addition of five new Fuso Shogun 400 prime movers, continuing the company’s steady expansion. The latest investment also includes nine new Vawdrey trailers, reinforcing the operator’s commitment to running modern, safe, and efficient equipment.
The Shogun 400s are powered by an 11-litre six-cylinder Daimler Truck engine paired with a 12-speed Automated Manual Transmission (AMT). Euro 6 compliant and tuned for efficiency, the 400hp engine is well-suited to both short and long-haul work. XFM selected the 4×2 configuration to meet its operational needs.
Safety was a major factor in the decision. Each Shogun comes standard with an Advanced Emergency Braking System (AEBS), capable of applying full braking in response to moving or stationary objects, and even pedestrians.
XFM Managing Director Les Sharp said the latest fleet upgrade underlines the company’s focus on quality, reliability, and safety.
“Our customers can attest that we are 100 per cent committed to providing the highest level of service and that means we operate modern quality trucks and trailers that are safe, efficient and well maintained,” Mr Sharp said.
He also pointed to the strong business case for the Shogun.
“Safety for our drivers and other road users is important, so we are also pleased the Fuso Shogun comes with a really high level of safety as standard. The overall business case for the Shoguns, including the low operating costs, also makes it something that is hard to say no to.”
XFM worked closely with Daimler Truck Australia Pacific’s Director of Strategic Partners and Business Development, Richard Eyre, to ensure the new trucks were delivered promptly and configured for the task.
The Shogun 400 offers 50,000km service intervals and a five-year/500,000km manufacturer warranty, helping maximise uptime and reduce operating costs. Beyond the 400 model, the Shogun range spans three engine sizes from an 8-litre entry option through to the 13-litre, 510hp Shogun 510, giving operators a wide set of choices.
With this latest investment, XFM continues to build a modern fleet designed to deliver reliability for customers and safety for drivers and the community.
