DHL Supply Chain Australia has officially opened a new warehouse facility in Erskine Park, New South Wales, expanding its distribution footprint in Western Sydney and strengthening support for customers in the technology and automotive sectors.
The new site spans 21,078 square metres and is positioned to improve DHL’s national distribution capability while offering close access to the company’s upcoming transport hub.
Designed as a multi-user facility, the warehouse will serve more than five customers across consumer electronics, white goods and automotive. DHL said the site is equipped to support both business-to-business and business-to-consumer operations, with a particular focus on reverse logistics.
Javier Bilbao, CEO DHL Supply Chain Asia Pacific, said Australia remained an important market for the business.
“Australia is a key market for us, and we remain committed to supporting the country’s growth, including its technology and automotive sectors,” said Bilbao.
“On the technology part, businesses in Australia have doubled their spending on data centres in just six months last year, and we have solutions that can help them. Likewise, we see growth in the consumer demand for the automotive sector, with nearly 99,000 new vehicles sold in 2025 and increasing aftermarket requirements.”
Bilbao said the new investment aligns with the company’s long-term regional strategy.
“Our Strategy 2030 focuses on delivering value to our customers, and we’ve been investing ahead of the curve in the region to strengthen supply chain resiliency and flexibility by expanding warehouse capacity and future-proofing logistics centres,” he said.
The Erskine Park facility includes ambient storage, selective racking, block stack areas, eight recessed docks, six on-grade doors, and a mezzanine level for rework and value-added services.
DHL has also incorporated a range of sustainability features into the site, including a 256kWp rooftop solar system, rainwater harvesting for non-potable uses, LED lighting with efficient controls, and EV charging infrastructure.
Steve Thompsett, CEO DHL Supply Chain Australia, said the facility was designed to deliver both operational and customer benefits.
“The Erskine Park new facility reflects our ongoing investment in innovation, sustainability, and infrastructure,” said Thompsett.
“It’s purpose-built to support reverse-logistics operations and deliver high-performance logistics solutions for our customers as well as a great site for our workforce. It unlocks new opportunities for growth, agility, and customer service excellence.”
DHL said the site’s reverse logistics capability includes returns management, returns shipping, and technical services such as consumer electronics inspection and spare parts returns, supporting growing customer demand for circular supply chain solutions.
