STG Global has selected the Hino 700 Series as its preferred heavy-duty truck platform as the Australian specialised vehicle manufacturer expands its range of truck solutions for construction, mining, waste, infrastructure and utility fleets.
The partnership will see Hino heavy-duty chassis used across a variety of STG Global applications, including vacuum trucks, water carts and tilt trays.
STG Global manufactures and supplies specialised truck bodies, service vehicles and associated parts, with its vehicles typically operating in demanding commercial and industrial environments where payload, durability, reliability and vehicle uptime are important considerations.
STG Global CEO James Agius said the breadth of the Hino 700 Series range was a major factor in the company’s decision.
“For STG Global, Hino offers a broad range of Euro 6 emissions compliant heavy-duty trucks in Australia for the applications we produce, including vacuum trucks, water carts and tilt trays,” Agius said.
“The Hino 700 Series range has been proven in the Australian market since 2021 and delivers STG and our customers with outstanding performance, safety and driver comfort.
“The variety of models available provides us with significant flexibility to meet our customers’ expectations.”
For specialised truck builders, access to multiple chassis configurations can be particularly important because vehicle requirements can vary considerably depending on the body, equipment, payload and operating environment.
Agius said aftersales support was another consideration in selecting Hino.
“Most importantly, we have been impressed with the level of support from Hino Australia and its extensive dealership network,” he said.
The relationship also has an international connection. STG Global’s parent company, Kyokuto Kaihatsu Kogyo, is a Japanese specialised truck manufacturer with an existing relationship with Hino globally.
“The decision to partner with Hino was also a logical choice given our parent company, Kyokuto Kaihatsu Kogyo, is one of Japan’s most respected specialised truck manufacturers and has a long-standing relationship with Hino at a global level,” Agius said.
Hino Australia President and CEO Richard Emery said the partnership comes as the company expects continued growth for the 700 Series.
“2026 will be a record year for our 700 Series, which has been driven by our expanded range of models and the introduction of our new Hino 12-speed automated manual transmission,” Emery said.
“The STG Global partnership is particularly important for Hino and we see significant opportunity to grow this partnership as demand increases for specialised truck solutions across construction, mining, waste, infrastructure and utilities.”
The Hino 700 Series is supported by the manufacturer’s Hino Advantage aftersales program, which includes a five-year or 600,000-kilometre standard warranty.
For fleet operators buying highly specialised vehicles, the agreement gives STG Global another standardised heavy-duty chassis option while providing access to Hino’s national dealer and service network.
Emery said Hino expects the relationship with STG Global to expand as demand for purpose-built heavy vehicles continues to develop across Australia.
