Scania Australia is introducing a new Fleetline truck range, combining standardised specifications, shorter delivery lead times and an included repair and maintenance programme for transport operators looking to control costs.
The 2026 model year line-up comprises Day Cab Fleetline, Sleeper Cab Fleetline and V8 Fleetline models, covering applications from tipper and dog operations to prime mover duties.
Scania says the specifications allow trucks to be sourced from any of its global production facilities, providing greater flexibility to meet customer demand.
“We have tailored the Scania Fleetline specification to be able to be sourced from any Scania global production facility, giving us the agility to meet the market in a timely manner, in order to take advantage of customer demands that require short lead times,” says Benjamin Nye, Director of Sales for Scania Trucks.
For fleet buyers, the approach simplifies vehicle selection while retaining Scania’s safety systems and its latest engine technology.
Day cab options for fleet duties
The CP17 Day Cab Fleetline prime movers are powered by Scania’s 13-litre Super six-cylinder engine, with a choice of 420, 460 or 500 hp.
Each engine features a compression release brake and is paired with the G33 gearbox with Opticruise automated gear-changing.
A P-series XT Fleetline configuration is also offered for tipper and dog applications with the same three engine outputs. The 500 hp versions include a Scania Retarder as standard.
Day cab specifications include the RB756 rear axle with a 2.85 final drive ratio, steel wheels and 640 litres of fuel capacity. Inside, drivers get Scania’s digital dashboard with a 12.9-inch screen and Medium-grade seats.
Sleeper cabs bring six-cylinder and V8 power
The Sleeper Cab Fleetline uses Scania’s CR20H high-roof cab and a 560 hp version of the Super 13-litre engine.
It is paired with the G33 Opticruise gearbox and offers a choice of 2.85 or 3.36 final drive ratios. Standard fuel capacity is 795 litres, with an optional locally developed 920-litre Hilton tank package.
The sleeper specification also includes brushed alloy Alcoa wheels, upper and lower bunks, the digital dashboard and Medium-grade seats.
Operators seeking V8 power can choose the 16.4-litre, 590 hp V8 Fleetline. It shares the high-roof sleeper cab and core specification of the six-cylinder version, including the G33 Opticruise gearbox and final drive options.
Fuel capacity increases to 875 litres as standard, with an optional 1,000-litre Hilton tank package.
Safety retained across the range
While Fleetline reduces the number of specification choices, Scania says its safety features remain standard, including advanced driver assistance systems and dual side curtain rollover airbags.
“Compared with the seemingly limitless options list Scania offers through its marketed range, the Fleetline models come with a slimmed down features list, although all of our safety features are included as standard,” Nye says.
Scania is also positioning its Super 13 engine as a key part of the operating-cost proposition. The company says Australian operators have recorded fuel savings exceeding its stated 8% fuel-burn reduction in real-world applications.
Actual results will depend on the operating task, making an assessment against existing fleet fuel consumption an important part of the purchasing decision.
Maintenance included for greater cost certainty
Across the Fleetline range, Scania includes its Repair and Maintenance programme over five years or 500,000 km.
The trucks are supported by Scania’s national network of company-owned and independent workshops, providing maintenance, repairs and genuine replacement parts. Scania Finance Australia can also tailor purchase plans.
For transport operators, the Fleetline proposition brings several purchasing considerations together: a simpler specification, earlier access to replacement vehicles and greater visibility of maintenance costs.
With operating costs under pressure, the range gives fleets another option when weighing up whether to retain older trucks or invest in new equipment.
