Protran Solutions has acquired Sydney-based Thermal Mark Industries, strengthening its transport refrigeration capabilities and setting the business up for an expanded service and product offering in 2026.
Thermal Mark Industries has operated in the transport refrigeration sector since 2002, supplying systems built and assembled locally for Australian conditions. The acquisition brings Thermal Mark’s specialist refrigeration expertise into Protran Solutions’ broader portfolio, which spans system supply and installation, servicing, preventative maintenance, spare parts support and cold-chain compliance.
Operations will continue from Thermal Mark’s existing Arndell Park facility in Sydney’s west, with all staff retained as part of the transition. This includes Thermal Mark founder Marc Gauci, a move Protran Solutions says is designed to ensure continuity for customers and preserve the technical knowledge built over more than two decades.
Protran Solutions General Manager Grant Turner said the acquisition is focused on building capability without disrupting existing customers or service arrangements.
“This acquisition combines proven industry expertise with a commitment to premium support and customer uptime,” Turner said. “We’re focused on expanding our product portfolio in 2026 with solutions that address real-world sustainability objectives in the transport refrigeration sector.”
Turner confirmed there would be no change to current service agreements or product availability, with customers continuing to deal with the same teams while gaining access to additional offerings as they are introduced.
Gauci said Protran Solutions’ approach aligned closely with the principles Thermal Mark was built on.
“When Protran Solutions approached me about the acquisition, their vision for premium product offerings and customer-first service aligned perfectly with what I’ve built over the past 20 years,” Gauci said. “I’m excited to continue this journey and help bring expanded capabilities to our customers.”
Alongside strengthening its core refrigeration services, Protran Solutions has flagged sustainability as a key focus area as the combined business looks ahead to 2026. Transport refrigeration is an increasing area of attention for fleet operators managing emissions, energy efficiency and cold-chain compliance, particularly in food and pharmaceutical transport.
By bringing Thermal Mark Industries into the group, Protran Solutions is positioning itself to offer a more integrated refrigeration solution for transport operators, while maintaining local capability and service continuity as the business scales.
