Allison Transmission has been recognised by Penske Truck Leasing as its Best Performing Supplier in the Heavy & Medium Duty Transmission category, highlighting the long-standing partnership between the two organisations and Allison’s role in supporting fleet uptime and operational reliability.
Presented every two years, Penske Truck Leasing’s Best Performing Supplier awards acknowledge suppliers that consistently deliver high standards of service, support and product performance across their operations. Allison’s selection reflects its ability to maintain supply continuity, support customers through challenging market conditions and continue investing in new drivetrain technologies.
The recognition comes after several years of disruption across global supply chains, where vehicle manufacturers, component suppliers and fleet operators faced unprecedented challenges in securing parts and equipment.
Paul Rosa, Senior Vice President of Procurement and Fleet Planning at Penske Truck Leasing, said the award reflected the strength of the relationship between the two companies.
“It was our pleasure to share this,” said Rosa.
“Just as Allison has walked its talk, I hope this recognition shows the same by us. I am grateful for the partnership and, more importantly, the relationship.”
For fleet operators, transmission performance remains a critical component of vehicle productivity, particularly in heavy-duty applications where downtime can have a significant impact on operating costs and customer service.
Rohan Barua, Vice President – North America Sales, Global Channel and Aftermarket at Allison Transmission, said the award was especially meaningful because it recognised performance during difficult operating conditions.
“Receiving this recognition from Penske Truck Leasing means a great deal to everyone at Allison, because it reflects the strength of a relationship built on consistent delivery through the full measure of adversity — not just in favourable conditions,” said Barua.
He said the post-pandemic period placed significant pressure on supply chains across the transport industry, but Allison remained focused on supporting customers and maintaining continuity of supply.
“The post-COVID environment tested every link in the global supply chain, and against a backdrop of unprecedented disruption and record industry demand, the Allison team remained resolute in its commitment to customers,” he said.
The award also reflects Allison’s ongoing investment in product development and manufacturing capacity. According to the company, recent innovations include the launch of its next-generation nine-speed automatic transmission and the new 3414 transmission developed in collaboration with Daimler Truck North America.
These developments are aimed at improving vehicle performance, driver comfort and total cost of ownership, key considerations for commercial fleet operators evaluating drivetrain technology.
Headquartered in Indianapolis, Allison Transmission supplies drivetrain and mobility solutions across a broad range of sectors including transportation, construction, mining, agriculture, energy and defence. The company operates in more than 150 countries and has built a reputation around automatic transmission technology for commercial vehicles and specialised equipment.
The Penske recognition reinforces the importance of strong supplier relationships within the commercial vehicle industry, where reliability, product support and continuity of supply remain critical factors in keeping fleets moving and maximising operational uptime.
