Foton will be rolling out its all-electric T5 EV at the industry-first TruckShowX event, taking place at Cape Schanck in Victoria from May 13-14.
The sell-out event will draw together the best from across the new-energy ecosystem, with Foton Mobility Distribution – the Australian-owned distributor of Foton Global zero-emission products – putting its T5 model on display.
Visitors to TruckShowX will be able to experience the next generation of all-electric logistics up close, with the opportunity to test drive a Foton T5 EV Pantech around the picturesque Mornington Peninsula.
Foton Mobility Distribution General Manager of Light Duty Vehicles, Bill Gillespie, will also be a guest speaker at the event, one of many electric leaders offering special presentations about new and emerging transport technology.
“Here at Foton, we can’t wait to get to TruckShowX and showcase our latest technology to an audience looking to expand their understanding of the possibilities now available to the Australian transport sector,” Mr Gillespie said.
“We are particularly excited to be presenting alongside our friends at Revora, who are doing some fantastic work to bring innovations into the marketplace.
“For many final mile applications, EV solutions truly stack up from technical, financial, payload and performance perspectives, which fleets can fully understand when they take the wheel of a T5 EV.
“In the short time we have been available in the Australian market, we have seen an outstanding response to our offering.
“There is a recognised need for new energy solutions, and we are proud to offer a complete package that has been proven around the world.”
At the heart of the Foton offering at TruckShowX is its T5 EV light-duty model, which topped the 2023 all-electric sales charts, available with a ready-to-go Australian-made tipper, aluminium work tray, or in dry or refrigerated freight formats.
One of the model’s leading points of difference is its 3,500kg braked towing capacity, making it a practical alternative for municipalities, landscape companies, infrastructure support, construction specialists and more.
The T5 EV has a fully loaded range of 180km and offers a full safety suite, including a Low-Speed Pedestrian Warning System, a comprehensive electronic braking and stability support package, dual SRS airbags, reversing radar, and buzzer.
Supported by a nationwide dealer network from Cairns to Perth, all Foton EV trucks are also backed by a 5-year/200,000km vehicle warranty and an 8-year/300,000km traction battery warranty.
