Australian digital freight company Ofload has strengthened its executive leadership team with the promotion of Karishma Bhatt to Vice President of Commercial and an expanded role for Rebecca Smith as Vice President, Operations Enablement & Transformation.
The appointments come as Ofload enters its next phase of growth, with a greater focus on commercial discipline, operational performance and building a sustainable nationwide freight network.
Commercial leadership strengthened
Bhatt brings more than a decade of experience across the Australian logistics sector, including roles with efm Logistics, FedEx and CouriersPlease.
As VP Commercial, she will oversee Ofload’s commercial strategy, including new business development, pricing, revenue performance and relationships with major shippers.
“Ofload has built something genuinely unique in this industry, and I’m energised by the opportunity to bring the same commercial discipline and customer focus I’ve built over more than a decade in logistics to a business at this stage of its growth,” Bhatt said.
Ofload founder and CEO Geoffroy Henry said strengthening the leadership team was important as the company continued to scale.
“This is a significant step in Ofload’s growth trajectory. Growth at this scale demands a leadership team built to match it,” Henry said.
“These appointments reflect a deliberate investment in an executive leadership team that will lead Ofload through its next chapter, as we build toward sustainable, long-term growth.”
Focus on network performance and transformation
Smith’s expanded position will see her lead operations enablement and transformation, with responsibility for network reliability, service performance and the technology and processes supporting Ofload’s freight operations.
She has more than 10 years of experience in operations and transformation across major Australian supply chains, including Woolworths Group, where she worked on large-scale digital transformation programs.
“We’re not just running a freight network, we’re building the operating model for what this business becomes,” Smith said.
“That’s a rare thing to get to build from the inside, and it’s why this next chapter matters to me.”
The appointments add to an executive team that includes Ludivine Scheidecker as VP Finance, Rimonda Ohlsson as VP People & Culture and Richard Sands as VP Engineering.
Ofload moves into next growth phase
Founded in 2019, Ofload has raised more than $100 million through seed, Series A, Series B and B+ funding rounds and has grown to more than 150 employees.
The company has developed a nationwide network of small and medium-sized transport operators that moves freight for major Australian businesses.
Over the past 18 months, Ofload has increasingly focused on operational rigour, commercial performance and creating longer-term value as the business matures.
The executive changes also come as Ofload prepares to recruit a Chief Financial Officer this year, with the company highlighting financial discipline and governance as priorities for its next stage of development.
